The use of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is not new. It has long been recognised for its accelerated wound healing properties in such applications as surgery and sports injuries. This technology is now being used for cosmetic enhancement with outstanding results.

WHAT IS PRP?

PRP uses your own cells derived from your blood, these are then topically applied or reinjected into the skin to stimulate collagen and new skin cells.
PRP is a bio active stimulator, not a filler. It will increase collagen and thicken your skin to give a firmer and younger looking appearance.

PRP TREATMENT IS IDEAL FOR:

  • Hair Loss
  • Crepey Neck
  • Eye Area
  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Dull Dry Skin
  • Textural Improvement
  • Full Face Rejuvenation
  • Scar and Acne revision
  • Décolletage
  • Clients who desire to choose a natural treatment without the use of dermal fillers or botulinum toxin.

HOW DOES PRP WORK?

PRP utilises the body’s natural healing mechanisms to elicit wound repair and tissue regeneration. Platelets are a rich source of growth factors.
During treatment, platelets and plasma are first derived from the patient’s blood sample by centrifugation. The platelets are then activated to release growth factors and the product is ready to use. When injected locally into the patient’s skin, the product stimulates regeneration and rejuvenation.
This occurs by multiple mechanisms including stem cell proliferation, epidermal thickening, angiogenesis (increasing the blood supply) and stimulation of dermal collagen and elastin production. In addition to platelets, the plasma component of the product plays an important role in the treatment process and contains many factors essential for cell survival including nutrients, vitamins, hormones, electrolytes and proteins.

HOW IS PRP DIFFERENT FROM TOXIN OR FILLERS?

Botulinum toxin is a toxin which inhibits the action of the nerves suppling muscles, causing them to relax: It has no regenerative effect on the skin.
Dermal fillers are a temporary treatment method, that provide immediate results for restoring loss of facial volume and helping to partially eliminate facial lines. They are a form of hyaluronic acid enabling injections into the skin for the purpose of improving appearance. When administered well, fillers provide a good subtle fresh look.
PRP is different as it’s your own product. It’s known as an autologous biostimulator, using your own growth factors to stimulate the regeneration of your skin. It is a natural treatment, triggering the regenerative cascade in your skin and the results continue to improve in time.
PRP will slow down the aging of the skin, increase the blood supply, stimulate the elastin and collagen production, smooth lines, tighten skin, rehydrate skin, reducing scars, stretchmarks and speed up healing.

IS PRP SAFE?

PRP is 100% your own cells (autologous) and therefore there is no risk of allergy, or rejection. PRP is inherently safe.

TREATMENTS

PRP requires 3 treatments, 4 weeks apart with an ongoing maintenance regimen.

HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE THE RESULT?

It does not give you the instant results that fillers and botulinum toxin can, but if you are conscious about your internal health, PRP would benefit you. The speed of response varies between patients due to inter-individual differences in a number of key physiological parameters. Some patients will notice a change after the first treatment, and most by the second out of the recommended course of three treatments.
Individual results may vary due to personal health and lifestyle variants.
