Rejuvenate, Repair, and Restore with Advanced Cellular Therapy
What are exosomes?
Exosomes are tiny, naturally occurring vesicles that cells use to communicate. They carry proteins, peptides, lipids and growth-factor signals that can calm scalp inflammation, support follicle health, and encourage a more active hair-growth cycle. In hair restoration, exosomes are delivered via micro-needling channels to improve the scalp environment where follicles live.
*It is important to note that exosomes are not cells themselves; they are small vesicles released by cells and are incapable of reproduction. They are cell-free, DNA-free and their main function is to influence other cells giving them a favourable safety profile.
Benefits patients commonly report
- Increased hair density and shaft thickness
- Less shedding and slowed thinning
- Healthier scalp with reduced inflammation/itch
- More active follicles (improved anagen phase support)
- Softer texture and natural shine
- Early changes can include less shedding within weeks, with visible regrowth for many patients from 8–12 weeks of consistent use
Results vary by pattern/type of hair loss, baseline inflammation, hormones, nutrition, medications and treatment adherence.
Who is it for?
Exosomes can be considered for:
- Early to moderate androgenic alopecia
- Post-partum or stress-related shedding
- Inflammatory scalp conditions contributing to thinning
- Patients wanting to enhance transplant results or maintain gains from PRP/PRF/GFC or medical therapy
Contra-indications include: active scalp infection, uncontrolled autoimmune disease, pregnancy/breastfeeding, recent isotretinoin use, and known sensitivity to any product component. We’ll review your history to ensure suitability.
Safety & aftercare
Treatments are generally well-tolerated. Temporary redness/sensitivity can occur for 24–48 hours. Avoid harsh scalp products, heat styling and intense exercise the first day; follow your personalised aftercare plan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Exosome treatments are considered safe and well tolerated. Your healthcare provider will discuss any potential risks or side effects during your consultation.
No. Exomide™ is an exosome which are secreted by cells in the body (they are not cells). Therefore, they cannot replicate or transform because they are cell-free and DNA free.
PRP/PRF uses your own platelets; exosomes are cell-derived vesicles rich in signalling molecules. Many patients benefit from using both for complementary effects.
Exosomes can improve scalp health and miniaturised follicles, but areas with long-standing, fully lost follicles may need transplant. We’ll give you clear expectations at your consultation.
Visible results are seen from 8-12 weeks and are most effective after a treatment cycle of 4 treatments.
4 treatments are suggested, 2 weeks apart – with maintenance sessions every 3-6 months.

Depending on how Exomide™ is administered it often has minimal to no downtime. After the treatment, heat, bruising, swelling and redness may occur. This is temporary and relieves within a few days. Other less common side effects may include tenderness, raised bumps under the skin, allergic reaction, itching or a mild rash.
