The PJ Project has one simple aim, to help keep kids warm in winter!
Over 170,000 kids are living in poverty in New Zealand, with over 200,000 more living with food insecurity. This means 1 in 3 children go without the basics, like food and warmth, with officials warning this number will only climb.
Being cold has a real impact on children’s health, school attendance and overall wellbeing. And as the cost of living remains high, winter places even more pressure on families already stretched thin. The PJ Project is one small but practical way we can collectively make a difference, helping children stay warm through the colder months.
The PJ Project is back for 2026 and kicks off on 1st May with a few exciting additions – including a very special, nationwide day on Friday 12th June!
In 2025 we provided 28,173 pairs of warm, winter pyjamas to kids in need across NZ. Stay tuned for more info and let’s see what we can do together this year!
