Dermal-Needling

Dermal-needling is a non-invasive, non-ablative facial procedure. It creates a controlled injury underneath the skin’s surface, thereby inducing the body to respond through the formation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibres as well as new capillaries for an improved blood supply in the treated area.

The Dermal Needling Pen is a professional medical treatment that requires a precise treatment procedure involving medical grade hygienic protocols. Professional needling treatments are commonly performed with a professionally formulated anesthetic cream so minimal client discomfort is felt.

The Dermal Needling Pen involves a hand held electric pen-like device which uses a disposable head of tiny needles that oscillate hundreds of times per minute moving the needles in and out of the skin. The needling treatment makes hundreds of microscopic channels or micro injures in the skin, and it is these micro injures that stimulate your body to begin the healing process that produces new collagen and elastin and rejuvenates and smooths your skin, similar to fractional laser treatments and laser resurfacing but without the side effects and downtime. Because our dermal needling pen does not use heat it is safe to use on all skin types and colours.

The skin plumps and thickens in response to this stimulus, ultimately reducing the appearance of scars, and lines and other skin texture changes. Dermal needling also increases the release of transforming growth factors amplifying structural change. In addition the channels made from the micro-needles allow topical gels and creams to be absorbed more effectively through the top layer of the skin all improving skin tone, colour and texture. Dermal needling is proven most effective on full face rejuvenation, glabellar lines, peri-orbital lines, nasolabial folds, perioral lines and scaring.

The Dermal Pen needle depth can be altered throughout your treatment enabling your therapist to cater to your specific needs and treat areas that are generally harder to reach (around eyes/nose/lips).

After treatment your skin will appear pink/red (similar to a sunburn) and are advised not to wear any makeup for 24 hours following treatment. Following treatment you will need to treat your skin gently. You can resume your skincare routine after 3 days.

We recommend repeating the Dermal Needling procedure every 6 to 8 weeks – optimum results are achieved from 6 to 8 treatments. Each session will cost $350, this includes pre-treatment anaesthetic cream to make the treatment more comfortable. Post treatment, we also include a soothing mask to ease symptoms and aid recovery. It can also be combined with Platetet Rich Plasma (PRP) for additional skin rejuvenation.
